Latin IDENTITIES ESCAPING THE WHITE FRAME: Commuting through repressed memories, microaggressions, and self-identification.

This project surrounds the self-reflection and identity of Latin American individuals who have grown up in the U.S. and struggled with assimilating to a culture that made them outsiders. The American way is set up to cater to a white-centered society that pushes self-doubt, fear, and identity issues on those who do not look like every other “American”. I deep dive into personal testimonies, experiences, and self-reflections with three amazing individuals I had the privilege of meeting. Guillermo, Naihra, and Carly. This is their story.
